Ariana Madix Magazine Cover and Feature
Here’s where my love for Bravo TV and all things Vanderpump Rules truly shines. For this project, I created a dynamic magazine cover and a two-spread feature article all about Ariana Madix and the #Scandoval timeline.
Tasked with choosing any topic I wanted, I designed a magazine layout that skillfully combines formatted sections and an engaging interaction of words and images. The layout includes a sidebar featuring recipes from Ariana’s most recent cocktail book, adding a practical and personal touch to the article.

Process
How I got there
Creating the magazine cover and spread for Scandoval from Vanderpump Rules was an exciting project, given it's my all-time favorite Bravo TV show. Writing the content was a breeze, but the real challenge was balancing word and image and organizing the layout. Each decision was crucial to ensure a cohesive and engaging design. Scroll to the end to see the evolution of the idea, resulting in a visually dynamic spread that captured the drama and essence of the show.

"Beyond the Bar" sounded more like jail or the law exam than a night out drinking.
This was a good start, but my sidebar was lacking style, and I needed to incorporate more photos.
Changed headline, created more dynamic/organic alignment, added tape and necklace details, all improving the framing of the layout.
Better and more interesting use of images and text layout with pull-quote, improved the sidebar but it still isn't quite there.
Pull-quote moved under Ariana, since she is saying it. Added captions to ground photos, and page numbers.
Red "timeline" highlights for cohesive navigation, more interesting sidebar with new cocktail illustrations and a photo of Ariana's book cover.
