Positano, Italy
AR Dimensional Poster

Vintage travel posters are renowned and collected for their beauty and dynamic style, but modern media is expected to deliver much more. These posters, mostly created between the 1940’s -1970’s, addressed travel as luxurious. While many modern advertisements still portray that luxury, today’s ads usually deliver more in the same size package.

Advertising and marketing media has to command attention in flooded visual spaces. It must promote and entice engagement—and even collect data from its viewers.

This AR Poster of Positano, Italy does just that!

After downloading the Adobe Aero app, users can scan the QR code with their phone or tablet and see a 3D poster pop up on any flat wall, and then interact with it just by shifting the perspective of the device.

The shadow box gives the illusion of looking through a window into a different location. Upon scanning the QR code, the viewer is immersed into the poster as the sports car drives into frame.

Process

How I got there

This poster required multiple programs to get to the end result! After sketching out my design, I rendered it in Adobe Illustrator in a flat, layered, vector style.

The model was created by separating the layers of my illustration in Adobe Photoshop, then uploading them to Adobe Aero and rearranging them to add depth.
